Kunle Elebute has over 35 years of professional experience advising clients in the private/public sectors in Nigeria and West and Sub-Sahara Africa. He led KPMG Africa as Chairman from 2017 to 2022. Prior to his appointment as Chairman, Kunle Elebute served as the National Senior Partner for KPMG in Nigeria. Before that, he was the Head of Advisory Services in Nigeria, responsible for the Deal Advisory, Management Consulting, Risk Consulting and Information Technology Advisory service lines.
He was admitted as a Partner in 1996 and was made responsible for the privatisation and emerging markets practice in 1999. He led the Financial Advisory Services division, which oversees corporate finance, transaction and forensic services for the West African sub-region from 2002 and became head of the Advisory arm in 2008. In between, he also led two of the firm’s larger industry practices in Nigeria: the Financial Services Industry (FSI) and Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH).
Among the projects he has been involved with include working with the International Finance Corporation on privatising the Lagos State Water Corporation and working for the World Bank as part of a multi-disciplinary team of consultants responsible for the comprehensive evaluation of the Nigerian petroleum sector.
He is currently the Chairman of Gerrard Capital Advisory Services.
